Drink as if you were sitting on a beach in the Bahamas.
With these drink recipes you can mix up some of our favourite Bahamian cocktails like a pro. While we lived in Georgetown, Bahamas the secrets of making these delicious drinks were entrusted to me from the best bartender there. Now you can mix them up yourself and be the neighbourhood go-to place on these last warm days of summer.
Alcohol is something that we have noticed as being quite prevalent when it comes to cruising. Many are either vacationing, Enjoying their retirement, or have chosen “this day” to be work free. You often hear the expression “it must be noon somewhere” when the drinks start flowing at an earlier hour.
Often the drinks just keep coming as everyone is enjoying their fun in the sun and moving towards “sundowners” in early evening. And then cocktails during the night.
I am not complaining whatsoever, and am actually happy that we are living this out in the Tropics where there are a number of tasty drinks to try out.
Having befriended one of the local bartenders in Georgetown, she was kind enough to share her bar’s recipes with me as long as I promised that my consumption would not cease and my visits to her would not lessen! They didn’t. But now that we have left the Bahamas and moved on to the Dominican I am glad to have these recipes at hand in case I ever want to reminisce.
I have decided to share them with you so that you can all join in on some Bahamian treats whether you are in the sun or not.
(Warning: she gave me the bar quantities, so these recipes are to make 1L of each, you may want to adapt the quantities if you don’t think you will be drinking that much!)
